CONCERT - Synth-ing Nº23!

And like Synth-ing Nº22, this was a drone performance!

But unfortunately, it was a bit plagued with some sound card issues (which I presume were due to the cable getting a bit loose), that made the recording version of this performance being split in 2 different parts...

This was far from ideal, but you can still listen to these two parts here!

Like Synth-ing Nº22, this performance uses a single patch of the Clavia Nord Modular G1 to produce a drone sound, taking advantage on the explained structure to generate a DUSG kind of module!

But unlike relying on FM oscillators to achieve interesting tones, this time 2 oscillators were used together with a ring modulator.

However, this patch ends up being more complex than the one used in the previous performance...

Unlike what was done in Synth-ing Nº22, the amplitude of the FMA is modulated by the smoothed LFOs, which are also responsible for most of the modulations in this patch.

In fact, the oscillators are only used to modulate the pan and the ring modulator modules, not modulating the digitizer modules that are used to process the different sound sources a bit further!

It's not a particularly complex patch, but I feel it worked pretty well, especially with the added processing provided once again by the Korg KaossPad Quad, used mostly for reverbs and grain shifters!

And for extra control over the different parameters of this patch, the Akai MIDIMix was once again used!

I think this covers this performance, which I hope you enjoyed!

Like always, you can download this patch in the same place I shared the performance, which means  here!
